Fabregas wants to leave Barca ?

FRANCESC FABREGAS

Don't be surprised by the caption header. it is for real that fabregas told colleagues that he wants to leave Barcelona! to where you might ask. Manchester United is the direction.

Fabregas and Barca executive repeatedly closed any link or move to old trafford insisting that the lad will stay on at camp nou and build his career.

It is believed that Fabregas is attracted predominantly by the promise of regular first team football and the prospect of being able to link up with former Arsenal teammate Robin van Persie. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has also told david Moyes to forget about Fabregas but we only wait to see the end of the unfolding drama which normally ends in the both clubs and the player agreeing terms and everyone goes home happy.

SUPER EAGLES ON THE MARCH AGAIN TO CHAN 2014

HOME BASED SUPER EAGLES

DING DONG AFFAIR....LUIS SUAREZ SAGA

LUIS SUAREZ

Liverpool top marksman Luis Suarez has for the last couple of weeks been involved in a ding dong affair with Arsenal. one minute Liverpool is asking for 40 million pounds and the next they go up to 50 million pounds.

Why create unnecessary hiccups for a team that genuinely needs a players services? why can't Liverpool just come out plainly and say Suarez wont be sold for any amount just like Tottenham Hotspurs is doing with Gareth Bale than play the cat and mouse game.

If Suarez wants to leave Anfield, then he should be allowed to leave. after all he is not Steven Gerrard.

KOSCEILNY'S CONFIDENCE... TOO EARLY

LAURENT KOSCIELNY OF ARSENAL

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is sounding very confident after an impressive run of pre-season victories in the Far East.

Recall that Arsenal played and won all four games during their Asia tour of Indonesia and Vietnam scoring 19 goals in the process. According to Laurent, the wins are good confidence booster as they head up to the weekend for the Emirate cup against the likes of Galatasaray, FC Porto and Napoli. quoting Koscielny..."We won all our games so that's good for confidence. We had a lot of training and all the players trained very well and gave themselves for the team.
"Pre-season is very important for the Premier League. It's a long season so we need to be fit - I think we did well.
"The wins give us some confidence, and it's good for the next games - the Emirates Cup, [the friendly] against Manchester City and the start of the season."
There we go again with this Gunner guys, they impress during pre-season but when the chips are down during league games, the confidence disappears. Well, soccer2theworld wish them well in the approaching season.

MYSTERY OF FIRST GOAL IN LEAGUE FOOTBALL SOLVED

SEPTEMBER 7, 1888

According to BBC Sports Football, a certain Robert Boyling was in the newspaper archive of the British Library in Colindale, London, when he made the discovery.

This ends many years of speculation sorrounding the correct date when the first league goal was scored in football history. September 7th, 1888 was the date and it was in the match between Aston Villa versus Bolton Wanderers.

The goal most widely assumed to have been the first took place in the match between Wolves and Aston Villa.
Villa full-back Gershom Cox put the ball into his own goal after 30 minutes - and with kick-off starting at 3pm it meant the unfortunate defender had his place in history. So soccer lovers, take note of the date.

WHAT'S ALL THE HUE AND CRY ABOUT THIS BALE?

GARETH BALE

Real Madrid are set to be ready to break the records again to sign Tottenham's Gareth Bale in a record fee of 95 million pounds sterling! if the deal goes through, it would have confined Cristiano Renaldo's 83 million pounds transfer from Manchester United to the same Real Madrid.

However, soccer2theworld reliably gathered that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is not willing to sell his talisman for even 100 million pounds.

Levy is determined to build the team to compete in the UEFA champions league and who else will they build the team around other than Gareth Bale. it goes to show that it's not all about the money. let's see where this will all end up. But is Bale really worth 95 million pounds or are Real Madrid so rich that they don't know what to do with money?

MARADONA BACK FROM SURGERY

DIEGO AMANDO MARADONA

Football living legend Diego Amando Maradona has successfully completed surgery on his eye.

soccer2theworld reliably gathered that the soccer icon who was suffering from age related eye trouble known as presbyopia is recuperating in the western Argentine city of Mendoza.

Has he given up his smoking habit yet? presbyopia is a disease that makes it difficult for the sufferer to focus on close objects, with that kind of cigar and smoke coming out like a chimney, where else will his focus be? Someone should tell him to check himself before he wrecks himself. anyway, we wish him quick recovery.

KENNETH OMERUO NOT GOING ON LOAN

KENNETH OMERUO
19 year old Chelsea and Super eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has been given tha all clear by the Chelsea gaffer Jose Mourinho to stay put with the rest of the team currently in pre season in Asia.

Omeruo and Mikel where not listed by the manager amongst the players going on loan.this in effect means that Kenneth will join in fighting for a starting place in the already strong Chelsea backline.

Thankfully, with the strength and technical abilities within him, he should break into the mainstream of the team.

FAST RISING EFE AMBROSE

EFE AMBROSE

Super eagles fast rising defensive stalwart Efe Ambrose has talked about his growing confidence in playing a key role in the heart of the Celtic defence line up. The 24 year old who has had limited time recuperate from a recent injury is back in the fray for the UEFA champions league qualifing round.

Quoting him, "I feel great even when i was back in Nugeria i was still preparing myself, training and working hard so i could walk into the team ans start playing as i know there was no time for me to go through pre season". After starring against the Reds in belfast, Ambrose was also in action in the win over Brentford at the weekend. And just to further confirm his rising profile, the defender got one of the goals in the 2-1 victory over Cliftonville during a UEFA champios league qualifier.

He certainly is getting better by the day and one only hopes that his form appreciates in time for the coming mundial.

WETIN DEY HAPPEN BETWEEN YOBO AND HIS MAMA-IN-LAW?

JOSEPH IKPO TAMBARI YOBO

Soccer2theworld is  not known to be indulged in rumour mongering and we strongly kick against such practice. so when gossips started throwing slimmy fictions around that super eagles standing skipper Joseph Ikpo Tambari Yobo sent his mother-in-law packing from their home, soccer2theworld sought to get to the bottom of the issue and here is a swift reaction from the skipper himself
''There's is no iota of truth in the report that has gained grounds of recent. There was no encounter of the such that was described to have happened between my mother-in-law and I. We as a family are in the best of place in our lives currently. Someone from some place, just sat down and decided to construct a lie, a total fabrication from their own imagination.
"I love my wife very much, nothing anyone does can bring any division between us and between our families. There was never a time that I sent my Mother-in-Law packing from my home for being a bad influence on her own daughter, who is my wife. How can people just come up with stories about what never happened".

What God has joined together let gossips and rumour peddlers not put asunder.

JOEL OBI INJURED AGAIN

What is it with this promising lad? why has he been plagued by recurrent injuries? where are all the men of God to intervene in this guy's case? bro, your labours shall never be in vein. Amen.

Soccer2theworld is wishing your quick recovery.

THE NFF BAN

NIGERIA FOOTBALL FEDERATION
(N.F.F)

We don't really understand why The Nigerian FA should ban the players of the four clubsides involved in the scandalous 146 goal scoreline. why place a life ban on the players? how do you want them to feed their families? why not ban the institution that gave them the platform to carry out such a fraud? time and time again, institutional corruption has been the bane of the

Nigerian society. the clubs  and their entire management should be banned for life and their assets confiscated permanently. this a case of giving a dog a bad just to find an excuse to hang it. for crying out loud, these guys are world record holders!!

Chief Mike Okeke Umeh please address this grave annormally immediately haba! what if one of your own plays for any of those clubs?

BACARY SAGNA

 BACARY SAGNA
News coming in from Arsenal has it that Bacary Sagna is happy to continue his romance with the club a little longer. Sagna is in his final year of his contract. The Arsenal France right full-back has been continually linked with a move back to his native France with Paris Saint Germain and Monaco credited with an interest in his services.

Quoting the dependable gunner.."I enjoy playing for Arsenal," Sagna told the Guardian. "I love my team, and I always give my best. I'm still here. Many people were talking about me going back to France but I'm still here and I'm looking forward to a big season with Arsenal". He further stated..
"Last season was difficult. I only had one year left and people were looking at that and maybe thinking I would leave. But I tried to stay as calm as I could. Now I will work hard in pre-season and have a good season for Arsenal."

Stay or leave, Arsenal fans want trophies this season.

TAIYE TAIWO EVADES TAX IN FRANCE

TAIYE ISMAILA TAIWO

What is all this with soccer icons evading tax? just recently it was Lionel Messi, now it's Taiye Taiwo. They make all this big money and yet they somehow find a way to remit their tax returns to the government.

Anyway, the No nonsense tax men in France have threatened to confiscate some of his assets if he fails to pay up within the stipulated time given to him. does know about his tax matters or are his tax administrators playing games?

STILL ON PLAYERS WANTING OUT

            ZLATAN       IBRAHIMOVIC

The recent signing and unveiling of Edinon Cavani at PSG is also about to throw the team into confusion if not well managed. Another  star performer wants out and it is none other than last season highest goal scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

He is reported to be dissatisfied with Carlo Ancelotti's intent on playing Cavani as the top striker while he plays from behind. Recall that Cavani himself finished as the top goal scorer for Napoli in the Italian serie A. with this unfolding drama, who will bell the cat? but why do this players feel threatened whenever their position is in contention? something needs to be done about this ugly trend else, we will see top clubs missing out in top tournaments.

WAYNE ROONEY AT IT AGAIN!

                                        WAYNE MARK ROONEY

This footballers never cease to amaze us! Rooney who is recovering from an injury back in Manchester is reported to be agitating for a move out of the club. it is understood that Chelsea are Arsenal are interested in his signature but what is the issue this time again? well word has it that new manager David Moyes has decided to play Rooney as a second striker behind Robin van Persie( who by all standard is a more potent finisher). This decision has not gone down well with Rooney who wants out of the club. But in a counter reaction to his rants, Moyes has insisted that Rooney is going nowhere and not any price for that matter. So what is really the problem with Rooney playing behind RVP? has he not played that role before? is he looking for another pay hike? is he oblivious of other great talents in the team such as Danny Welbeck and Chicharito? come on Rooney, wake up please!

THE SPECIAL ONE SPEAKS

                                              JOSE MOURINHO
                      A.K.A THE ONLY ONE
Returnee Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho has said that he will be dissapointed if he wins the Europa League. according to a BBC monitored news, the special one said...."I don't want to win the Europa League,"....It would be a big disappointment for me. I don't want my players to feel the Europa League is our competition."....

Quoting further,....
"Chelsea wants the second [CL trophy], I want the third and we are going to try.
"The Premier League is a competition that at the end of the day the best team wins. At the end of the day nothing matters because the best team over 10 months is the champion. The most important thing in football is to be the best team in the season and try to win your domestic league.
"In our case it's the most important league in Europe. So we have to try and be the best team and win the Premier League."

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:" SUCCESS IS THE ABILITY TO GO FROM ONE FAILURE TO ANOTHER WITH NO LOSS OF ENTHUSIASM" ....ALBERT EINSTEIN.

Managers need to learn from Jose Mourinho.

FOOTBALLERS DIET

The kind of diet our local footballers eat daily impact so much on their physical performance, development and all round condition. We begun our focus on footballers diet yesterday so as to help guide our players and coaches on the importance of designing the right diet for players.

Here is an excerpt from talkfootball.co.uk:

....."Footballers Diet Like most sportsman, footballers have to keep a strict diet to ensure they are at their peak of physical fitness. Long gone are the days where you would see players down the local pub having a meat pie and a couple of pints the night before a game - we are in a totally new era where every advantage counts. Eat right First and foremost eating right is key to achieving physical fitness. You can't eat too much because you'll put on weight, but you also can't eat too little as you won't have the energy needed for training and matches. Also you have to make sure what you are putting into your body is the right stuff. Lots of chocolate sounds great but it isn't what'll give you that extra yard of pace on a Saturday".

GERRARD STAYS ON AT LIVERPOOL

                                                  STEVEN GERRARD

England and Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has signed a new two year contract extension at his home club Liverpool. This new deal will put paid to any speculation of him transferring to another club as the 33 year old legend may eventually retire at anfield after an illustrious career. It is on record that Gerrard is one of the few players that have never played professionally for another clubside other the one he started with. others in this category include Alessandro Del piero(juventus), Paolo Maldini, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and the likes.

Gerrard is a man of records and his career achievements speaks volumes. notable was the UEFA champions league final in 2005 against AC Milan. Gerrard literally and single handedly brought Liverpool up from a 3-0 deficit to equalise and then go on to win that year's trophy. he holds the record of the only player FA Cup Final, a League Cup Final, a UEFA Cup Final and a Champions League final. The guy is simply awesome. Maybe his contract extension will persuade Suarez to stay on at Anfield.

STEVEN GERRARD

THE RETUEN OF NSOFOR

                                  VICTOR OBINNA NSOFOR
                     A.K.A "FOR REAL"

CSKA Moscow hitman Victor Obinna Nsofor is in the news again. The out of favour eagles is being touted to make a return to the fold following his recent burst of form in the russian league. His abilities are certainly not in question especially when he is injury free. tecnical and tactical experts are of the opinion that the addition of Victor Nsofor to the eagles attacking line up will bring the desired result in front the opponents goal. soccer2theworld is also joining to ask for the recall of Nsofor to the National team. Oya now the big boss!

A Soccer Player's Diet

                                 PHILIP OSONDU

The importance of a soccer player’s diet cannot be underestimated when planning the path to success on the field. It was speculated and well rumoured that after the 1987 under 17 world cup that a certain Philip Osondu who won the tournament's MVP award and subsequently signed for Anderlecht of Belgium failed to live up to his tournament rating. reason: the Oyinbo diet that he was being fed with did not help his growth the way the club anticpated. rather that growing taller or in a certain pattern, the young man added much wait and soon faded into oblivion. last time we checked the supposed crown prince has since turned into a cleaner cleaning airport floors in Brussels and doing other menial jobs to make ends meet( no disrespect to his person). The big dream to become a world football star after the quick striker bagged a long-term contract at Anderlecht is now a long distant memory. A star is dimmed forever. All due to good diet in the wrong body!!. What should a footballer eat especially the guys in the age grade cadre?
quoting thefa.com....

Essential nutrients
Here are some of the essential nutrients young footballers need to be eating, and which foods they’re found in:
  • Simple carbohydrates: found in sweets, cakes, soft drinks, jam
  • Complex carbohydrates: found in rice, bread, pasta, potatoes, cereals, fruit
  • Saturated fats: found in butter, margarine, cheese, pasties
  • Unsaturated fats: found in sunflower oil, salmon, nuts
  • Protein: found in milk, chicken, eggs, fish, yoghurt
  • Vitamins and minerals: found in fruit, vegetables, dairy products
  • Fibre: found in seeds, peas, beans
  • Water: found in foods, drinks, formulated sports drinks
It's important to eat a range of these foods:
  • Meat and meat alternatives - meat, fish, eggs, beans and nuts
  • Vegetables and fruit - root and leafy vegetables, salads, apples, oranges, bananas
  • Dairy products - milk, cheese, yoghurt
  • Starchy foods - bread and rolls, pasta, rice, cereals, potatoes
Footballers need energy, and that’s most commonly found in carbohydrate. Now, in a healthy diet, 55-60% of it should come from carbohydrate, but for footballers, it’s even higher - as much as 70%.
Of course, players need other nutrients too and it’s not easy to get the perfect intake of carbohydrate from eating a regular three meals a day. The way to do it is by snacking - snacks play a crucial role in a footy player’s diet, especially if eaten immediately after training or a match. That’s when the energy stores in the muscles which have just been working are best refuelled.
Snack attack! These snacks are high in Carbohydrate but low in fat:
  • Banana, jam or honey sandwiches
  • Muesli bars
  • Fruit cake, currant buns, scones, American muffins
  • Crumpets, bagels, English muffins, scotch pancakes rusks and cereal
  • Jelly cubes
  • Jaffa cakes
  • Low fat rice pudding, bread pudding
  • Yoghurts and milkshakes
  • Fruit and dried fruit
We’ve done good food and bad food, and we’ve looked at what snacks can boost the body during and after a match or training session. Now lets look at what you should drink.
The water lost from the body during sweating needs to be replaced to stop you getting tired quickly, and also speed up the recovery process – that means feeling fitter and sharper afterwards a lot sooner.
These checks will help players:
  • Weight: 1kg of weight lost during a training session is equal to 1 litre of fluid lost.
  • The 'pee test': If your urine is dark coloured, it means you need to have a drink. Lots of trips to the toilet, producing lots of clear coloured urine, shows you’ve taken on enough fluid.
  • Thirst: Being thirsty is an unreliable indicator of when you need to have a drink. If you're thirsty, you’re actually already partly dehydrated so if you finish a training session and you’re gasping it’s a giveaway you haven’t taken enough fluid on board.
What's best to drink?
For footballers, the best fluid to drink is a diluted carbohydrate/electrolyte solution. In plain English, that’s the kind of stuff you’ll find in stuff in energy drinks like Gatorade.
When should I drink?
Ideally, it’s best to drink before, during and after a training session, as well as drinking frequently during a match.
How much should I drink?
Only a little – but often. If you drink too much too quickly, you run the risk of getting a stomach upset.

Question: do clubs in Nigeria have nutritionists to help plan their players diet?
